GREEN LAKE PROPERTY OWNERS ASSOCIATION
SATURDAY, 16 MAY 2015 - 8:00 A. M.
HERITAGE BANK MEETING ROOM - DEDRA’S

 

The Green Lake Property Owners meeting was called to order by Chairperson, J. Duininck on Saturday, 8:00 a. m. of 16 May 2015.

Members present: G. Holmstrom, T. Johnson, H. Lange, E. Roberts, B. Schweitzer, V. Sechler, and T. Frazee.

Members absent were S. Linder, S. Lykken, and W. Dahlen

There were no guests present at the meeting.

The minutes of the regular meeting of 16 May 2016, were approved by T. Johnson, seconded by H. Lange, Motion carried.

Treasurer T. Johnson presented the report for the month of April and May 2015.

Motion to approve the Treasurers report by Greg Holmstrom, seconded by Eric Roberts. Motion carried.

 

CORRESPONDENCE:

Chairperson J. Duininck stated to the Board that we have been invited to the Middle Fork

Crow River Water Shed District Open House on Tuesday, 06 June 2015.

T. Frazee discussed with the Board of the donation for fireworks for the Spicer 4th of July program. Motion by B. Schweitzer, seconded by G. Holmstrom to donated $1,500.00 for the fireworks in 2015. Motion carried.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

T. Frazee explained to the Board that we have a professional spreader which has been used in the past for treatment of Eurasian Water Milfoil. Discussion as to selling this spreader or keeping the same. The Board decided that we would not sell it at the present time.

 

REPORTS:

Caterpillar: No Report

Education/Web page: V. Sechler/T. Frazee presented information about the 2015 Directory, which is at the printer now, for distribution Copies will be mailed out when dues are paid.

Lake Management: B. Schweitzer reported on the Zebra Mussel plates that will be placed in 12 locations around Green Lake. If anyone is interested in placing this on your dock, please contact Chairman Schweitzer.

Chairperson Schweitzer has been meeting with PLM Lake Management Company about starting to map the area(s) of Eurasian Water Milfoil on Green Lake. When the water warms up, this program will begin. All Information will be sent to DNA official Nick Brown.

Chairperson Schweitzer informed the Board that we wish to be “Pro-Active” with this program along with others in the working with the Minnesota DNR, Water Shed District, and the University of Minnesota.

SEWER AND WATER: Chairperson H. Lange met with the Director of the Green Lake Sewer and Water Commission about the leaks around Green Lake. The Director stated they will need to calibrate the “mag’s” to see if they are working. They hope to have this completed by the 22nd or 23rd of May. The Water System is losing millions of gallons of water.

VARIANCE/TAXATION: Chairperson J. Duininck did not have anything new.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

T. Frazee reported for S. Lykken about the printing of pictures on canvas. Chairperson Lykken is looking for old pictures of Green Lake which will be copied upon “canvas” for sale for people in and around Green Lake. If anyone has any old pictures, please contact Chairperson Lykken.

Harvey Lange thanked the Board for the donation of $2,000.00 given to clean out the channel from Green Lake into their lagoon. The Board thanked Mr. Lange for his work in the project.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

Chairperson J. Duininck informed the Board that the Annual Meeting will be held on Saturday, 20 June 2015, beginning at 8:00 a. m. with a free full breakfast. The Annual meeting will begin near the 9:00 a. m. mark. All people on Green Lake are invited to the Annual Meeting.

VIP letters have been mailed out to total 41 VIP’s invited. The Board has invited DAVE PAULSON, Director of the Kandiyohi County Task for Invasive Species to speak. Mr. Paulson will talk about the programs for Green Lake in 2015 year. The Board has, by popular request, invited Bruce Kleven to speak on the 2015 Legislative session.

Candidates for positions on the Green Lake Board, which will be placed in nomination are:

City of Spicer: Kathryn (Kit) Smith and Sara Martinka for 3 year terms

New London Township

Green Lake Township: Greg Holmstrom

Irving Township: Steve Linder
